Growing Your Business
Lead Generation Program
Would you like to have clients coming into your business on a more consistent basis? Do you have one of those businesses where the product or service is more “one-time” in nature so new clients are a must?
One of the nice things about establishing a consistent lead generation program is that it helps to alleviate that feast or famine experience many companies go through.
One way to get started is to select a specific niche you’d like to “own.” Get very narrow and skinny when initially developing this program. This will help you succeed quicker and from there, you can expand as far as your little heart and the bank account will let you!
Let’s say you are a financial planner and you would like to focus on affluent women. One way to start is to develop a program specifically for divorcees (the affluent ones of course!).
- Create a target list — newly divorced women in specific zip codes, attorneys that focus on divorces, accountants who focus on divorces, psychologists and therapists who focus on divorces... get really specific: specialty clothing shops, personal trainers, dermatologists and plastic surgeons, etc.
- Determine your key message to this group or various groups.
- Create a theme and collateral campaign: letters, website, brochures, seminars, videos, teleconferences, etc.
- Initiate a drip campaign: letter, phone call, letter, phone call, etc.
- Refine list — delete those not interested or not qualified, add others you meet along the way that are interested and qualified
- Make appointments, hold classes, etc.
- Keep going, refining your message along the way
- Expand where it makes sense — maybe you start an AffluentWomen.org group or create an AffluentWomen or Divorcee publication.
Again, the key is to get very niche specific, start small, perfect the system, then expand if you want to. By targeting a niche audience, you can be very specific about your message. This will keep them focused on your offerings — it will help you educated them and have them appreciate you much quicker. If you try to be too many things to people, they tend to discount what you are telling them, ignore it or shy away from it. Remember, we humans really do not like too many choices. Really.
Do you need help defining your niche then “owning” it? If so, then what you should do right now is contact us. We’ll create a custom program for you and then... we will implement it. Creation and Implementation. It’s a beautiful thing.
